2025: A Year of Patience and Progress
Spring calving season at its peak.
As 2025 comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on a year defined not by volume, but by intention.
Because of the Big Horn Fire and the rebuilding still underway, we made the decision not to process beef this year. That choice wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. We believe in listening to the land, not forcing production, and allowing pasture to regrow in its own time.
That patience carried through the year.
We did raise and process eight pigs, providing pork for our own family and for families across Washington. The remainder is being sold by the cut, and every order reminds us why we do this work in the first place.
This year also marked something new. We launched two products that came straight from our hands and values: a tallow hand and face cream, and hand-poured soy candles. At a Christmas bazaar, our vendor booth sold out completely. Watching people connect with something we created beyond meat was both humbling and exciting.
Most of all, 2025 reminded us that progress doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like restraint. Sometimes it looks like rebuilding. Sometimes it looks like saying “not yet” so that the future can be better than the present.
To our customers, supporters, and friends: thank you. Your patience, encouragement, and trust mean more than we can properly put into words. We’re grateful to continue this work, one season at a time.
Until next time,
Ashley
