The Table

A rustic wooden table is set with various dishes including grilled steak, roasted meat, pulled beef, and potato wedges, with sides such as salads, pickled vegetables, and sauces, alongside lime wedges, a glass of red wine, and condiments.

Crider Creek Cattle exists for one simple reason: to provide food we are proud to feed our own family and confident sharing with others.

Everything that reaches the table here begins on the land at Pine Creek Ranches. The choices we make, from the animals we raise to the pace at which they grow, are guided by stewardship, responsibility, and a long view of the future.

This is not about volume or efficiency. It’s about doing things in a way that makes sense for the land, the animals, and the people who trust us with their food.

Why Highlands

Group of brown cows grazing in a grassy field with wind turbines and a small tree in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Highland cattle belong here.

Their natural hardiness, calm disposition, and ability to thrive in challenging environments make them well suited to Eastern Washington’s high desert. They are resilient without being demanding, and they move across the land in a way that supports healthy pastures rather than depleting them.

Highland beef is known for its rich flavor, fine texture, and balanced marbling, a reflection of the slow, steady way these animals are raised. Choosing Highlands isn’t about standing out. It’s about choosing cattle that align with our landscape and our values.

When animals belong in a place, everything works better.

How We Raise Our Animals

A man in a black shirt and jeans petting a pig in a pen with other pigs, set in a dry, fenced outdoor area with wind turbines in the background under a clear blue sky.

We believe good food begins long before it reaches the kitchen.

Our animals are raised outdoors, with space to move, rest, and behave naturally. They are cared for daily by our family, with close attention to health, comfort, and low-stress handling.

We don’t force growth or rush timelines. Animals are allowed to mature at a natural pace, resulting in better quality meat and a system that respects both the land and the livestock.

Transparency matters to us. We are always willing to talk about how we raise our animals and why we’ve chosen this path.

Why Pork

Group of piglets in a muddy outdoor pen, with a fence in the background, some piglets are black and others are light pink, and they are huddled together.

Pork plays an important role at our table and on the ranch.

We raise pork with the same care, attention, and respect as our cattle, focusing on animal wellbeing and thoughtful management rather than speed or scale. The result is pork that is clean, flavorful, and dependable, the kind of food you reach for again and again.

Our approach to pork mirrors our approach to everything else here: raise fewer animals, raise them well, and never lose sight of why we’re doing it.

What You Can Expect

Two raw beef steaks and four seasoned tuna steaks on a wooden cutting board, with a sprig of sage and a glass jar of spices nearby.

When you choose beef or pork from Crider Creek Cattle, you can expect:

  • Food raised with intention and care

  • Clear, honest practices from people you know

  • Consistent quality without shortcuts

  • Limited availability that reflects responsible stewardship

We raise a finite amount of food each year. That limit is not a marketing strategy. It’s a reflection of what the land can support and what we can responsibly manage.

This is food meant to be shared, trusted, and returned to.
